It’s been a minute …

So a TON of stuff has happened since our last post. Here’s a quick rundown:

  • Booked our ONE-WAY plane tickets to Valencia!

  • Swam with the fishes in the Gulf of Mexico and the water temp was perfect.

  • Reserved a place in Valencia for the entire time we’re there!! It’s about four blocks from where we stayed last December. SO EXCITED!!

  • Found a storage unit facility in Peachtree City for the stuff we plan to keep (which hopefully won’t be very much). Manager Gail was so kind, friendly, and helpful.

  • Our apartment application was approved and now we have a place to live in Spain!

  • Sold our coffee table to a UGA college student.

  • Sold our large dining table to an appreciative woman who will use it as a conference table for her business.

  • Worked with clients.

  • Hosted an open house.

  • Coordinated times for people to come by and pay for/pick up furniture.

  • Updated addresses with a ton of businesses/organizations.

  • Planned a trip to Indy for a celebration of life service for a friend who was there for us from the beginning.

  • Got together with loved ones “one last time”.

  • Dealt with an unresponsive HOA.

  • Swallowed a fish bone, visit the ER, an ENT, an Osteopath, a GI, have an endoscopy.

  • Drive to Miami and back - twice - to apply for and pick up visas.

  • Slowly recover from frozen shoulder that hit both shoulders simultaneously for more than two years.

  • Determined what to pack for a year in Spain.

  • Worked on our passion project, Incredibly True Adventures.

  • Took time for us.

  • Dealt with symptoms of perimenopause.

  • Canceled the utilities.

  • Me time. Writing time. Laugh, cry, fight. Woke up in a panic at 3:00 am - on the regular.

  • Sold our awesome bookshelf to Maggie and her boyfriend, who live in Reynoldstown and drove over to Freddie in her electric car and her new trailer. They’re very excited to buy the bookshelf, and we’re excited she’s gone to a good home.

  • Sold two rugs, two side tables, our dining table, and four chairs to a home stager.

  • Our friend Javier bought our awesome 1960s vintage console record player and plans to restore it to its former glory.

  • School teacher Julia bought our mustard yellow sofa. She’s thrilled to inject color into her living room now that her sons are at an age where they won’t destroy it.

  • Sad to see all of our furniture go, but also excited for what’s next.

  • Blue (the dude who bought our mattress) and his mom were excited to learn about us living in Valencia because his sister/her daughter lived there when she attended Berkley School of Music. The mattress nearly didn’t fit in his car, but with some shoving and help from our awesome neighbor, we made it happen.

  • Practice packing went well - weighed in at 47 pounds on our big Orange Crush suitcase (limit is 51 pounds).

  • Attempted to keep calm and carry on as we were constantly surrounded by chaos - boxes for storage, boxes for the condo in PCB, furniture to sell, items to donate, items for CHaRM (Center for Hard to Recycle Materials), everything we’re packing and taking to Valencia (next month!?!), boxes to go to storage (we’re gonna have a storage unit!!?! WHATTT??), and stuff to give to others.

  • Sold our sweet little condo in Virginia Highland.

We leave for Valencia in four days! (insert excited, high-pitched scream here) Breathe in, smell the roses. Breathe out, blow out the candles.

This is our life, and we love it. We’re so grateful for our Incredibly True Adventures.
