14 days, 11 states, 3883 miles
The second half of our road trip adventures took us north through the gorgeous San Juan National Forest to Montrose, CO to visit family for a couple of days before heading through the Rocky Mountains to Aspen and on to Denver, across the plains of Kansas, continuing east and south as we headed back to Atlanta.
Everything is HUGE here - big sky, big scenery. It’s easy to feel inspired and also feel incredibly small
Drove past the World’s First Rodeo
80 mph speed limit? How fast does one really need to drive??
Vast and varying landscapes
Neatly arranged groves of pistachio and walnut trees, RV parks
Experienced a hail storm in the high plains of Colorado
Grateful for ice cubes and air conditioning
John Denver Park in Aspen was beautiful, calm, and peaceful
All told, we spent 14 days driving through 11 states (AL - MS - LA - TX - NM - CO - KS - MO - IL - KY - TN - GA), stayed in 8 cities (Baton Rouge, San Antonio, Marfa, Albuquerque, Montrose, Denver, Kansas City, Paducah, Atlanta!) and drove 3883 miles. We are Road Warriors!!
