A story about how life delivered on my request
More adventures are coming soon, like our upcoming “French Fries and Frose’ 2022+2.0=2024” (might need to work on that name a bit) cross-country road trip to Texas, New Mexico, and Colorado from the end of May through mid-June. In the meantime, here’s a woo-woo story from Shannon.
For the past three-ish months, Rhys and I have been diligently working on IncrediblyTrueAdventures.com to recreate and repost original blog posts and photos from our Blogger.com Incredibly True Adventures site we maintained from June 2006 (our first cross-country move) until June 2011 (British Virgin Islands/Virgin Gorda trip).
Starting with the most recent post (June 2011), we’ve been copying and pasting the text from one site to the other, plus searching for photos to include from our archive photo storage and working our way backward chronologically. It’s been a labor of love, yet also fun for us to remember the experiences.
There’s a lot of content to post (a good problem to have) and finding time to make our way through five years of content has proven to be tricky, especially since we’re also working on many other projects. Thankfully I’m well-versed in this hosting platform and have used it in my business for the past 10+ years.
Imagine my surprise when I read our post from August 26, 2009. Rhys had just started her job at Georgia Tech and I was working at SCAD-Atlanta. I wrote “…we’ll both be working in higher education, which was our goal when we moved here one year ago. It’s funny how life gives you what you ask for…. Hmmm, I’d like a trip for two to Spain, please. (I’ll let you know if life delivers on the request.)”
And here we are, ten years later, having visited Spain twice (plus about 15 other countries), and now we’re planning to LIVE in Spain for a year. Holy cannoli, life delivered on the request, and then some!
