Celebrating Carnival

Time for another parade—it’s Carnival, y’all! Valencia showed UP this past weekend as people gathered to celebrate music, dance, costumes, and culture. The streets pulsed with energy, thanks to the electrifying beats of enthusiastic drummers who set the rhythm for the festivities.

One of the most breathtaking moments was witnessing a castell—a human tower built with remarkable strength and camaraderie. The crowd seemed to hold its breath as a fearless team member effortlessly climbed to the very top, showing off her impressive skills and a massive level of trust.

Another highlight was seeing the radiant pride of immigrants from Bolivia, Mexico, Colombia, Barbados, the Dominican Republic, and others. They waved their native flags with joy and performed traditional dances, sharing their culture with the crowd. It was a beautiful celebration of diversity, unity, and the vibrant spirit of Carnival!
