Watch out, Miami
We scheduled our visa application appointment at the Spanish Consulate in Miami for June 17. Woo HOOO!! We’re super stoked AND super nervous because we need all of our official paperwork by that date.
Here’s the list and status:
National Visa Form - Fill out and sign
Non-lucrative residence visa application form - Fill out and sign
Private health insurance certificate (original and copy) - Purchase
Proof of funds (original and copy) - Obtain
Passport photos - Obtain
Passport (notarized and photocopy) - Obtain
Criminal background check (valid for 5 months) - Completed and sent to the Dept of Justice for Hague Apostille and to be officially translated into Spanish
Medical certificate (original and photocopy, valid for 3 months) - Make appts with our doctor
Driver’s license (notarized and photocopy) - Obtain
Marriage certificate - Received and sent to MN Secretary of State for Hague Apostille and to be officially translated into Spanish
So, yeah, that’s it. Progress is being made, but having zero control over the bureaucratic process is a lesson in letting go and trusting others to do their jobs promptly and correctly.
No big deal.
Meanwhile, our minds are screaming, “EEEEEEEEEK!! YES IT IS!!!”
We’re doing our best to keep calm and carry on, though some days are easier than others. That’s life.
!Nosotras venimos por ti, España! 🇪🇸❤️
