Festivals and funnel cakes in Piedmont Park

This will be a short post, but we wanted to share pictures from last weekend's Dogwood Festival at Piedmont Park. We enjoyed the beautiful weather while viewing fantastic art and people-watching: a perfect day!

What is my girl carrying? Why, it's a sweet, fluffy, yummy funnel cake! (and yes, we ate the whole thing.)

In other news, we've started gardening inside our treetop hideaway. Actually, we didn't start the garden, but it appeared out of nowhere, just like magic. Curious, no? We'll keep you in suspense no longer: We have mushrooms growing in our apartment. Two of them. We’re not kidding. The magic mushroom is slightly to the left of the stained, brownish door frame. It's little, round and also brown.

Thanks to our slumlords, we've discovered how easy gardening can be. Without even trying, we grew salad fixins'!

How can that be, you may be asking yourself. Well, when it rains heavily, the water seeps underneath our front door and causes the carpet to become wet, soggy, and moldy.

(Note: Our slumlords are well aware of the water damage/soggy carpet/mold issue. In fact, this issue has occurred ever since the apartment was built more than two years ago. And yet, they've done nothing to fix the problem. I know you're shocked.)

Speaking of slumlords and problems, remember the pool, a.k.a. Okeefenokee Swamp? Well, it's even greener and swampier than before. But now, in a karmic twist of fate, the fence surrounding the pool has started leaning backward, so Samford tied ropes from our steps to the fence posts in an attempt to save part of the fence from sliding into the ravine. The saga keeps getting better and better, doesn't it?

Needless to say, we're not gonna miss these guys when we move into our condo. We will, however, miss blogging about their crazy antics.

As always, we're sending lots of love and hugs across the miles...the girlz

P.S. Stay tuned for pictures from our upcoming trip to Savannah, GA!
