Good times
Navigating life in a new city means hurling yourself out of your comfort zone and trusting you'll have the wherewithal to figure things out. It can feel invigorating, exciting, and intimidating as unfamiliar surroundings force you to rely on instinct, the kindness of others, and, of course, Google maps. Wanna up the ante? Simply toss a foreign language in the mix.
In our short time here, we've familiarized ourselves with the city via the Hop On/Hop Off tour bus (always our first order of business in a new city), the Metro Tram (for an easy 20 minute commute to the Mediterranean Sea), and on foot (100,648 steps to date). Our rusty Spanish improves with each encounter and the people of Valencia have been incredibly patient as we stumble our way through buying fruit/veggies/cava at the market, ordering from a menu, or asking "como se dice" (how do you say...) for the umpteenth time.
Each day we feel awe-inspiring joy, immense gratitude, and a little bit confused. Pretty fantastic way to experience life, if you ask me. 🇪🇸 🚌 🚊 👟
