Celebrating Chinese New Year

Seemingly always up for a party, Valencia celebrated Chinese New Year with a spectacular parade. Thousands of people lined the streets (with some youngsters even standing atop recycling bins) to experience the vibrant dragon and lion dances, colorful outfits, music, drum lines, traditional dances, plus elaborately decorated floats. Excited children yelled “Aqui! Aqui!” (Here! Here!) to catch the attention of float riders tossing candy. Despite the droves of people, we were grateful to be here to experience yet another joyful celebration of diversity and culture.

Here’s to the Year of the Snake! 🐍🐲🐉🎊🇨🇳🇪🇸 ❤️R&S
